Jo M. Orise – July, 2016 Art Update

Lincolnville Beach – the Lincolnville Fine Art Gallery

UMaine Belfast Center art show ended a few weeks ago. On my way home from retrieving my painting, I decided to visit the Lincolnville Fine Art Gallery
at Lincolnville Beach. It is on the route to Belfast.

My previous attempt to visit the gallery proved futile—closed. This time I was in luck and I happily viewed lovely works of art and craft.

I complimented the owner, Dwight, at his art and craft selection and gallery display.

Dwight has on display his own creations of wood sculptures and wall hangings, which I found very charming and tastefully executed. (One of his large pieces is hanging on the right side of the gallery as seen in this photo.) He is an artist/ owner/curator/realtor! And I thought I was the busy one.

Dwight invited me to fetch my painting from the car.

“You painted this?” he chuckled.

“Yes.”

“How about leaving it here. I have room for it.”

So, after discussing the terms and reaching agreement, I now have my painting hanging in the Lincolnville Fine Art Gallery.

I am happy about this opportunity to be represented in Lincolnville. Hopefully someone will see my work and decide they can’t go home without it.

Visit the gallery. Say hello to Dwight.

Jo M. Orise Art Update – August, 2015

Curtis Island Light, Acrylic 16×20″  by Jo M. Orise

The Mainely Maine Exhibition, August 7 – September 3, 2015.

Sorry about the notification delay. Hubby and I had lots of company and property maintenance to deal with. But here is the news.

This painting is now hanging at River Arts Gallery, Damariscotta, Maine.

The art show is juried, which makes it difficult to enter, but when you make it, there is a satisfaction that follows—the art has to pass muster—so to speak.

The art opening was August 7, from 5 – 7 PM
Hours: Tuesday – Saturday 10-4 PM
            Sunday 10 – 2

It is a great gallery setting. Lots of artists.  If you come this way, stop in and take a peek… oh, and take this painting home to enjoy forever.

Jo M. Orise July 2013 Art Update

In addition, I have one-man-show in the dining room of  The Brown Bag Restaurant / Cafe, 606 Main Street, Rockland, ME for the month of July.
This is one of my favorite places to eat when I am in Rockland, Maine. http://www.thebrownbagrockland.com/

People with a taste for great food flock the restaurant every day.

Come to the shows to support the other local artists and me. If you purchase a painting, part of the proceeds are donated to the Soup Kitchen. What a great excuse to buy a new painting—from me of course.

If you see my art on display at either location, drop a line, tell me what you think.

Oh, I know the banana painting is ‘different’. I let my imagination loose. Hunger for art and food—how do I tie the two together? Ah! Food on the beach of course! Therefore “Monhegan Bananas” emerged from the canvas. It is a 7×7″ gallery wrap painting. That means the painting continues around the edges of the canvas.

The other painting, is Curtis Light. It is on display at the Small Wonder Gallery, Camden, Maine. It is a cute 5×5″ gallery wrap painting as well. I just love ocean waves. They are so dynamic and difficult to paint. But I’m working at it. My work can be seen there for the season.

I also have art work hanging at the Store Upstairs Gallery in Port Clyde, Maine.
